Port Orford

When the Quilter's Corner open for business in October 1994, it was the result of the determined efforts of three women: Dottie Barnes; Debbie Dorman; and Dolores Purdy who has since passed on. When the local quilt shop closed, the three ladies 'knew' that the Port Orford area needed another quilt shop. So, they joined their talents and resources and proceeded to totally renovate a forlorn commercial building next to the post office, transforming it into the modern building you see today.

Both women have done hand work and quilted for years and bring a wide range of taste and specialty talents to the business. For example Debbie specializes in hand applique and quilting and Dottie has become an expert Long Arm Machine Quilt operator with a thriving Long Arm Machine Quilting mail order business. To learn more about Long Arm Machine Quilting, see Susan Druding's recent article.
