|
"Among the sea stacks near Hubbard Creek are large flat black rocks. Their tops were chiseled off in 1876 by the Port Orford Cedar Company, to accommodate a 500-foot pier built to transport logs from shore to waiting ships. At the time, between ten-to-fifteen million feet of first class timber remained in the Hubbard Creek area..." (text courtesy of Footnotes and Footprints Calendar)
