We are easy to find, Click our Google Map link for directions to our location on the oceanside of Hwy 101 in the south end of Port Orford. We overlook Battle Rock Beach about an hour north of the California border. When you see the "Crazy Norwegians Fish & Chips Restaurant", turn on Jackson Street towards the ocean. The photo below was taken by our webcam located next to our guestroom from which you view the beach and a small cove below. Humbug Mountain is off in the distance to your right. Within a two block walk are restaurants, the beach, and the town's harbor. By the way, Sunset Magazine has rated our neighbor's Crazy Norwegians Fish & Chips Restaurant" as one of the West's Top Ten (including Hawaiii) Seafood Spots by the Sea!
I've recently created and then uploaded two Port Orford-related videos to YouTube to help raise the visibility of our sleepy Community. They are my first efforts and brief with lots of action shots! I hope you'll like them: (3min 11sec) Port of Port Orford Oregon - Recreational and Commercial Fishing for over a Century and made on the beach below us, (1min 25sec) Port Orford Oregon Battle Rock Beach Surfers
Where we are located (click for map!) is only about 47 mins (34 miles) south of world famous, Scottish Link-Style Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. Three of America's top 10 Golf Courses are already located there and a fourth world-class course is under development and will be opening in 2010...

After 40 years in Port Orford, Brenda & I are heading towards retirement and are now offering to sell our Port Orford property as a residence. In the meantime we are continuing take bookings for our Bed & Breakfast. We have always been practical people and given the slowness of the Real Estate market, we expect to be in business for quite awhile longer :)
However, our Community recently received very good news. Our Port and The Port Orford Ocean Resource Team and, a group of other governmental agencies have announced that they have completed a $10 million Marine Project proposal for Port Orford". It is one of the Oregon Coast's few 'Green & shovel-ready' economic development projects ready for funding. You can read all about it HERE. Whenever any part of this transformative project is funded, there will be a significant economic impact on Port Orford.
Serious investors might also appreciate that adjoining us is our neighbor's ocean-front property listed For Sale. Like ours, it has been over 35 years since it was last available. It would take two separate transactions, but this presents a unique opportunity to re-combine both properties.

Weather permiting, it is easy to fly into the nearby Cape Blanco State Airport. The 5100 x 150' all weather airstrip is only 30 minutes away. We would be happy to shuttle you in from there. As you can see from the photo below, early day avaitors did not need an airport in order to fly into Port Orford. They just used Battle Rock beach below us! The photo to the right of the biplane is of Historic Lumber Rock located at the south end of the beach, the direction the biplane would have to taxi towards in order to fly off. I understand that to meet the tremendous demand for building materials after the San Francisco earthquake, one the area's earliest shipping docks was attached to Lumber Rock and a narrow gauge railway was run from Hubbard Creek south of town, up the beach to the wharf.
